Urla

Since it's a newly opened winery, we honestly went with low expectations, but it was quite the opposite; they exceeded them by far. Their white wines especially are very successful; we loved the Bornova Misket and Chardonnay. The reds aren't full-bodied but they're easy-drinking wines. The restaurant is excellent. We got oyster mushrooms and risotto balls as appetizers and loved both. The olive tapenade they brought as a complimentary starter was also great. They won us over with their food, and we're definitely going back for the restaurant :) Note from 2025: The chef had changed at the restaurant but has changed again. In its current state, it's back to its former performance.

2022: The place has a nice ambiance, we didn't eat but did a wine tasting. The presentation and service were good. Their Chardonnay wines are truly incredible. We didn't quite find what we expected from their other wines relative to the price range, but still worth a try :) Edit from 2025: Make sure to call before you go and make a reservation. If you're going for a tasting, specifically mention that and ask about availability. Otherwise you might show up and be told the tasting is in 2 hours.

Nice wines. Especially the Claret and Sonnet 23-76 are a must-try. Edit from 2025: They've stopped allowing children, though they used to. Heads up for those who weren't aware.

A restaurant that doesn't give you an a la carte option if you go with more than 5 people, only the tasting menu. I respect that decision, but it was a bit disappointing that they didn't mention it during the reservation. Food quality is generally good. There are different plates. Some were skippable while others were really great. The okra vellutata was truly amazing, a signature dish. We also really liked the Cretan zucchini. The desserts at the end were standard though. The tasting menu is filling overall. But there's way too much downtime between courses. We sat down at 8 and didn't finish all the plates until 11:30. The wine menu is quite extensive, and the sommelier was really attentive. The staff is very friendly and fun. You can tell they're happy with their working conditions. The bathroom doors open inward. That doesn't meet safety standards for an emergency. Whether this place is worth the money at today's prices is debatable, but I guess that could be said about most places given the current economic situation.

The newest winery in the area. Some of their wines are good, some still have a way to go, but they'll get much better down the road. They've got potential. The staff is very attentive, and the tasting setting is nice. Definitely a must-visit.

The wines are great value for money, we especially loved the emir wine. The crispy parmesan they serve on the side is really well done :)

We went on a beautiful Sunday. I can't remember the last time I saw a crowd like that :) definitely worth going on calmer days, weekdays if possible. Getting in and out of the parking lot was really tough with the crowd. There were no seats at the tables but we'd come for a tasting anyway and that was available. The person doing the tasting was very attentive, bless them, gave us plenty of information. Wine quality is generally good, prices might be a touch high; I'd say these are wines that target the premium segment rather than value-for-money. Absolutely worth going, seeing, and tasting. Especially the bogazkere 2018 and cabernet sauvignon 2019 were really impressive. Update after our second visit: This time we got to eat as well. The pappardelle was truly excellent, we had two plates. The barrel-aged cabernet sauvignon 2019 was genuinely an incredible flavor.

The wines are average (could be specific to the vintage we tasted, might get better with a bit more aging) but they especially need to work on communication and service for the restaurant side. At the tasting session we went to with a reservation, we waited about 15 minutes because other guests were late. During this wait, nobody came to inform us (we went and asked ourselves twice), nor did anyone come to ask if we needed anything. (It's really strange for a customer to sit at a table for nearly 20-25 minutes without a waiter even bringing a menu) On a previous visit, we'd ordered 4 different glasses of wine thinking let's try as many different wines as possible; when we asked for extra empty glasses so we could share with our friends, they told us they don't offer that kind of service and that's not how they operate. A bit of a strange establishment :) unfortunately there's a bit of smugness and pretentiousness going on. 3 stars for the beauty of the setting and especially in honor of the effort put into winemaking & the lady who gave us detailed information about the wines during the tasting.

I'm not sure there's another place that offers wines this aged at such reasonable prices. All their products are definitely very high quality. I didn't feel a standout where I'd say 'this one is incredible' but the Marselan stood out a bit more on the nose, and the Ekigania was good on the palate. The venue itself is very simple. There's a small building for tastings and no food service at all. It's worth going with the awareness that you're just there for a tasting. The horses look beautiful and the grounds are very spacious, makes you wish they'd set up a system where regular people could ride too.

Their white wines in particular are excellent, and the venue's view is stunning. The owners are very friendly and helpful. A true value-for-money spot. We were really impressed by the Bornova Muscat and the Viognier-Chardonnay blend. We'll definitely visit again when their new vintages come out.

We visited for a wine tasting. Unfortunately in terms of value for money, they fall well short compared to other wineries in the area. Prices are high, and the wine they poured into tasting glasses was quite little. We weren't impressed at an 'oh this is really good' level by any of their wines. The venue itself is definitely nice, maybe the food or accommodation are good (we didn't try those) but we wouldn't recommend going just for a wine tasting.

The venue is absolutely perfect, you feel like you're in Hollywood. The wines, especially Tempus, are very good, but if you start comparing value for money, you can find much higher quality wines on the market. Definitely worth going for the venue, and the tasting fees are reasonable and worth joining; but think twice before buying bottles I'd say :)

The setting is quite nice and the service staff are good. The menu is quite original. Different flavors have been interpreted beautifully. The Loznik, Hummus, and Sultan's Delight were really excellent. The prices aren't super affordable but the taste definitely justifies them. The fact that all the wines on the menu are from local grape selections also deserves extra credit.

First off, the location on the map is wrong. Just navigate directly to Narimor Hotel. This was one of the most impressive meals I've had in a long time. As a couple who normally doesn't enjoy the tasting-menu concept, I can say we were blown away by Atilla Bey's dishes. It's not easy to find plates this meticulously crafted with every detail thought through just anywhere. Along with Vino Locale in Urla, I'd say it's become one of our favorite restaurants. The quality of the wines served as pairings could perhaps be bumped up a notch, maybe a dedicated pairing study for the dishes. That was the only shortcoming we found. Beyond that, there's not a single bad thing to say about the food. Hoping to visit again as soon as possible!

Supposedly fine dining but they don't have a wine menu. Not only that, there are only 2 glass/bottle options. On the menu they brought, the prices were crossed out with new updated prices written in etc. We invest millions building fancy venues but can't be bothered to print a proper menu. We open a fine dining restaurant but have no options beyond a few table wines. We still have a very long way to go unfortunately.

The place is really beautiful atmosphere-wise. Both the interior and the garden are quite enjoyable. The menu looks like a lot of care went into it, but unfortunately the flavors didn't quite hit the mark for us. An arancini ball, a common appetizer at restaurants like this, had rice that was somehow both mushy and dry at the same time. The calamari etc. were so-so. The fish we had was good, but from a place with a Michelin recommendation, we expected much more than just good fish. The service was quite poor. Despite going on a weekday, our questions and requests about the food always got lost. We constantly had to remind them 2, even 3 times. Clearly the number of servers is insufficient. If it's this chaotic on a weekday, I can't imagine what weekends must be like.

Both the hot appetizers and the sushi are really delicious. Prices are a bit steep but the quality justifies it. The corn tempura and spicy sushi were outstanding.

The place is really beautiful. The view, the vibe, the atmosphere, all amazing. The food is generally good, just the portions are a bit small. On a day where we went heavy on seafood, we liked the hummus and octopus the most. The service could be a bit more professional.

Big portions, tasty food. Pizzas and salad are really good. Lasagna is nice too but not quite like real lasagna. Tiramisu isn't bad flavor-wise but wasn't quite like real tiramisu either :) still, definitely a restaurant worth trying.

The food is absolutely superb, the ambiance is very well done. There are minor hiccups in service but the food is so good you don't even notice. The head waiter recommended we go heavy on the meats, and that's what we did, no regrets at all. Absolutely recommended. December 2022 edit: unfortunately the chef has changed, and with that prices have gone way up while portions have shrunk incredibly. Flavor-wise it's still okay but in its current state you're definitely not getting your money's worth.

Staff are very attentive and kind. For food we went with the fish, it was a bit heavy for us but definitely well-crafted with gourmet flavors. The fact that they offer all wines by the glass is excellent. Overall a successful restaurant, prices are a bit steep but compared to similar places it's worth it. The reason I'm taking off one star is that the tables are unfortunately way too close together. While eating it feels like you're sitting with the next table over, impossible to have a private conversation. If they could add a bit more space between tables it would be so much better. Additional note after our second visit: we left even less satisfied this time. Some dishes, especially in an effort to be original, had random combinations that ruined the flavor. Since they're a sustainable restaurant they don't give out cologne-scented wet wipes, but they haven't come up with an alternative solution either :)

One of the best chef restaurants in the area. We've been at least 4-5 times and I can say we were never disappointed. Although the price is a bit high, it's absolutely worth it for what they offer. You might just find the answer to the question 'how good can a squash be' in their summer menus :)

The mussel pasta is incredible! Ambiance is gorgeous, service is great too. We'd been putting off going because we heard they'd shifted mostly to pizza in the last year, but after going we totally regretted not coming sooner :) Truly very original flavors, worth trying.

Unfortunately an overhyped bubble. The first time we went, the sauces on the meats gave us heartburn all evening. On our second visit, even though we hadn't mentioned this to our guests at all, they experienced the same problem. On top of that, there's no alternative dish besides meat/chicken/fish. The only thing we were happy with flavor-wise was their cocktails with lamb's ear. The service etc. is genuinely excellent, but the food content unfortunately doesn't meet expectations.

The setting is upscale, the clientele is a notch above average, but the prices aren't inflated. We'd say it's on par with a standard fish restaurant by Urla standards. We paid around 2,500 per person. The food was generally tasty, and we didn't eat anything bad. Sardines, tarama, and herb sautee were our favorites. The armola cheese was a bit heavy; they could've warned us about that. The seafood variety is quite nice and different. The salt-baked fish looked great.

The atmosphere is truly incredible, the seaside is gorgeous, and it gives amazing views especially at sunset. The food is quite good. The mezes are okay but the fish is really delicious. I'd recommend focusing on the fish rather than the mezes. The service, however, is completely unworthy of a place like this. If we hadn't been persistent, the waiters wouldn't have even taken our orders. They don't pay proper attention. Everything we asked for came out wrong. Their heads are in the clouds. If they fix the service, it'll be a perfect 10 restaurant. Worth going back for the great fish, but you need to go in with zero expectations about the service.

It's a superb spot as a municipality-run place. Definitely somewhere you should go for fish and salads. The mezes are average but the fish flavors are superb. Perfect for sticking with fresh fish, greens, and yogurt-free/cheese-free vegetables like sea beans and artichokes.

A huge plus that there's no smoking inside during winter; most places don't give us that luxury anymore. The fish and seafood are quite tasty. The smoked mussels were our favorite.

The whiting skewers were melt-in-your-mouth good. We went twice and one time the service was great, the other time we had quite a few issues. Overall the flavors are good, if you catch them on a good day you'll have a nice seafood experience.

This turned out to be a restaurant where we went without any expectations and ate amazing food. The adabeyi kavurma, flavor bomb, and artichoke shrimp hot starters were superb. We were also really happy with the parsley and beet dishes we ordered as meze-salad. Overall the flavor of everything we ate was top-notch. Price-wise it's a bit expensive unfortunately so it's not a value spot, but it's a great choice for a quality meal. After our second visit we can say the same things. The food is truly amazingly delicious and worth every penny.

Meze flavors are not bad, the best ones were the seafood noodles and beet spread.

Amazing original mezes, a must-visit. Especially the sea bass lokum and the flavor ball are addictively good, don't leave without trying them :) We've been there at least 5-6 times by now and not a single guest of ours has ever disliked it. Truly a restaurant that's nailed the seafood meze game. Should definitely be on everyone's must-try-before-you-die list.

The view is gorgeous, the seafood is genuinely excellent. We especially loved the caviar pasta and the sailor's börek, and the octopus was great too. The seafood şevketi bostan is truly a real specialty. When we went last year the staff seemed a bit indifferent, but on this year's visit we were glad to see they'd improved on that as well. Try to go on less crowded days.

They have very original mezes and hot appetizers, but the prices are at least a couple notches more expensive than comparable places.

Food and atmosphere are great, the wine menu is quite nice. Everything we had was really enjoyable.

Incredible flavor. The meat quality is absolutely outstanding. The burger's taste lingered on our palates, juicy and so good. We really liked the sauced tenderloin, entrecote, and ribs. For desserts, the chocolate tart was superb, like a Snickers cake. The zucchini salad was also great. The tasting menu is pricey for the portion sizes. Instead of going with the tasting, ordering the same items as a shared platter works out cheaper.

Great atmosphere, the food is also good. The pesto pasta and meat-based sharing appetizers were solid. The beef short rib hot appetizer in particular was excellent. The appetizer we ordered expecting potatoes turned out to be all processed meat, but overall what we ate was good. Still, it's worth asking exactly what's in things when ordering items with different ingredients, to avoid surprises. The by-the-glass wine selections are nice too. A good option for dinner.

Overall the service and food quality are good. The only issue is that the place is a bit small, so there's a general ventilation problem, especially in winter, food smells really cling to you. Choritos A la Chalaca was our favorite item, especially the sauce which was excellent. The seafood platter was a bit mixed and too oily. The noodles were too salty. It was quite disappointing that the wine options were so limited. While the menu lists 4 different white wine options, in reality there were only 2. Still, if you're into regional cuisine, it's definitely worth a try.

Probably because they just opened, the prices are very reasonable right now. The food is delicious. A true value-for-money spot. Once they get their liquor license and add wine to the menu, it'll be even better. Hope they don't mess up this pricing.

This venue where we occasionally hold our dance parties in Urla is quite spacious as a place, and the food is a total bang for your buck. We've been very happy on every visit so far.

Their wine-by-the-glass menu is quite extensive and they serve good wines. The ambiance is quite elegant. The food is quite good, the meat dishes were really enjoyable. Steak and ossobuco can be eaten with total confidence.

The service and atmosphere are nice, but the sushi quality was mediocre. They were a bit dry and bland.

The food, service, and atmosphere are quite nice. Prices are reasonable compared to the market. The by-the-glass wine selections in particular are good and well-priced. Some dishes were great while others were just okay. You should ask about the contents before ordering. What we ordered as sushi turned out to be an unwrapped bowl due to our own ignorance :) still tasted good though. Our favorite hot appetizer was the arancini balls. The pesto pasta was good too, but the seafood risotto came out different from what we expected.

As a pasta lover, we weren't very happy with what we had. Even though we got the pasta in the Parmesan wheel, the cheese level was low. We didn't love the sauce either. The side bar was closed when we went so there was no alcohol available. It's a shame that a place with this concept doesn't have a liquor license.

All the food is super tasty. For drinks, their spicy passion fruit margaritas are incredible. We're obsessed with their nachos.

Their pizzas and some of the appetizers we had were really good, but despite the pasta being fresh and tasty ingredient-wise, it wasn't that enjoyable due to the lack of sauce. Pizza is the way to go for food here. The by-the-glass wine served was good. The staff is very polite.

The food was good, the venue is spacious, and the waiters are very attentive. Their wine list is impressive. Given today's prices, they haven't hiked theirs too much yet, so I'd say it's good value for money.

The seafood teppanyaki was pretty good, the salmon was nice too, big portions. The rice they serve on the side is way too mushy though, you can skip it (it fits the Far Eastern concept but that doesn't change that it's tasteless :))

Their tiramisu is absolutely perfect. Pizzas are great too but sometimes they arrive cold because of the long distance, you need to either heat them up or eat there. The quality of ingredients is very obvious, worth the price.

The subye dolma and chocolate brownies are absolutely phenomenal. Worth going back again and again just for those. Their wine menu is very extensive and lovely, and the fact that it's heavy on Denizli wines is a nice touch. There are some hiccups in service but the flavor and value for money make up for the hiccups. Going during less busy hours/days would make for an even happier experience.

The burger was pretty good. Not amazing enough to say "I'd eat here every week," but when you do eat it, it definitely won't disappoint. Having beer on the menu is also a nice plus. The fries could maybe use some improvement.

The kokoreç is tasty, went nicely with a beer. It's good, not quite at the "you absolutely must go" level, but if you live in Urla and fancy having kokoreç by the seaside, it's a spot you can try. Prices are reasonable.

The döner tastes good, food comes out fast. A solid pick for a quick meal.

The burger flavors aren't bad, but it's not exactly a standout concept either. Some of the fries came stale. It was also disappointing that they don't have beer as a drink option.

The food tastes great and prices are fair for the quality. A real bang-for-your-buck spot. We ordered delivery and since the distance was long it arrived a bit cold. Maybe they could use more insulated containers, but other than that we had no complaints.

We ordered delivery, the chicken shish and adana were decent but the beyti was burnt and the lahmacun was brought completely uncooked. The tomatoes in the salad on the side were moldy.

For breakfast there's a single menu in a spread-style breakfast format, and you can also order eggs on the side. There's a separate menu for kids too. Overall the product quality is nice, and the content wasn't bad. The breakfast is pretty classic though, nothing innovative. They've chosen to go with that concept. It would've been better if the menu were a bit richer with more alternatives.

A no-frills, delicious spread-style breakfast spot with natural ingredients and no waste. A perfect 10. The owners are very attentive, the food is fresh. Everything was delicious except the sucuk. A place that delivers exactly what you'd expect. Prices are fair for the setting.

Their breakfasts were really enjoyable. The cashew cheeses are super delicious. All the desserts we took home were also great. You can confidently order anything.

The atmosphere is beautiful, the food is genuinely top quality. We hadn't had such a good croissant in Turkey in a long time. Prices aren't over the top for the quality of the food. We loved it, definitely going back.

Leyt closed down and has been completely replaced by Amourette. Unfortunately the food quality has dropped significantly. The service staff works fast but the kitchen is really slow, and you have to wait at least an hour for your food. The lovely Leyt's menu has also become very generic. Disappointing.

Nice place for breakfast, their katmer is good and not too greasy, the sigara börek wasn't bad either. Prices are reasonable.

This season they have live music every Friday and the vocalist's voice is really beautiful. Having a table right by the sea is absolutely wonderful, the view is superb. The food is quality. There are some areas for improvement in service but even as it is, it's a lovely setting to have a good time.

Content is standard, prices are a bit steep for what you get. Don't think I'd go again.

One of the best bars in Urla. We didn't try the food but it's a great spot for hanging out in the evening. Good music, nice atmosphere. A proper bar.

The place is really beautiful, especially the interior ambiance is impressive. The cocktails are a bit too strong; they definitely don't skimp on ingredients, but the alcohol taste overpowers. The food isn't bad but the prices are a notch high overall. Edit from years later: They've really improved things for both breakfast and dinner. We definitely recommend it for clean, quality food. The club member thing also saves you good money.

A fun whisky bar. The view is beautiful, the atmosphere is very enjoyable, and they have plenty of whisky options. The waiter could use some improvement on whisky knowledge though; he doesn't know much about it :) It's a shame there's no kitchen; some small snacks would've been nice.

Amazing place. The owners are attentive about everything, and whenever the smallest issue comes up, they make sure to address and fix it. A beloved spot in our Urla where you can confidently go for any kind of gathering with friends, and the live music is a nice touch too.

The sharing appetizers we ordered were better. You could skip the mains and go with a mix of shared hot appetizers instead. Nice venue, we sat down for burgers. It wasn't bad but not at a level where you'd call it legendary either. Nothing that really sticks with you.

The place is truly beautiful and what they're trying to do is really eye-catching, but unfortunately it's a venue with management issues. Problems keep coming up both with events and running the cafe itself. I hope they can sort it out. In winter, despite no smoking being allowed inside the cafe area, so much cigarette smoke drifts in from the semi-enclosed section that it's absolute torture for non-smokers.

A pretty nice spot for swimming. The new design turned out really well. Prices are good and the food is tasty too.

The food is quite tasty. The sea salt and espresso tarts were really good. Lots of gluten-free and healthy options available. The only thing was their crackers didn't really appeal to us.

They have really nice and healthy products. Both the sweets and the gluten-free items are quite delicious.

Usually empty, has a nice view from the front section. Teas/coffees are good. Self-service. Their honey cakes are incredibly delicious. They usually come in on Saturday and Sunday.

Scraping the kazandibi tray clean is an incredible flavor experience.

Their ice cream was pretty sugary. Gets sickening if you have too much.

They have really high quality ice cream but the more unusual-looking ones felt a bit forced :) sea salt caramel became our favorite. Plain fruity ones like lemon and peach are also great. The ones with rose geranium and basil were a bit disappointing.

Can a place really have every single product be amazing? Their cakes, desserts, and quiches are absolutely outstanding. Even though the customer crowd can be a bit pretentious, it's also a perfect spot for takeout. Price-wise it may seem expensive at first, but compared to the quality and taste it's actually reasonable and worth every penny.

We usually order delivery. The burgers are truly delicious and they mostly arrive before getting cold. We decided to eat in and luckily they'd moved to a new spot, though the new place seems to have a bit of a ventilation problem. It really smells like food inside, but that seems fixable down the road. In summer, eating outside on-site or ordering delivery seem like the best options. Portions are really filling, the Hiç Ala Burger is a killer :)

Their böreks are amazing, a true family-run place :)

As of 2024, the price of 400 is pretty steep given the conditions. They've hiked it up significantly in 2 years. Other than that, the setting is nice, the sea is genuinely clean and enjoyable, and even when it's windy the waves don't hit this spot too hard. The showers and changing cabins are clean. The toilets could be cleaner. The no-alcohol policy is ridiculous. It would be so much better if they allowed it. Overall, given the lack of beach spots in the Iskele-Cesmealtı area, it fills a gap.

The sea is nice but you should go on calm days. On windy days it makes way more sense to swim from the Iskele side. The minimum spend isn't too high but the menu is pretty expensive. The cheapest beer was 300 TL as of June 2024. The food is unfortunately mediocre. If they gave the place a proper overhaul and improved the menu and food, it could actually be a really great spot. It's the only beach club in Urla.

The sea was really beautiful in August. Service-wise they're super fast too, makes sense to go when it's not crowded.

Water is warm, shallow and full of seaweed. It doesn't get deeper no matter how far you walk. Perfect for families with kids.

We got our appetizers and turkey from here for New Year's. Every appetizer we had was excellent. Their plum pickles are amazing too. All the food is fresh. You can buy with complete peace of mind.

Nothing to complain about regarding the atmosphere and ambiance; it's really enjoyable during concerts, but their menu is an absolute disaster. They supposedly have frankfurter sausage on the menu, but they're selling the cheapest supermarket chicken sausage as frankfurter. Their nachos? The chips are barely a step up from regular corn chips. We can safely say we had the worst food we've eaten in Urla in a long time. The restaurant itself deserves 1 star, but I'm giving 3 purely because of the great setting and ambiance. I absolutely do not recommend eating here.

Our 6-year-old nephew took a 10-minute mini horseback riding tour and both the instructor and the staff were really attentive. We were genuinely happy with it. Price-wise it's a bit more expensive than other farms in the area, but it's a nice setting for a good time. We also got to try the restaurant much later. While we found the hot appetizers average, the pizzas were quite good. The veggie pizza especially was really tasty flavor-wise, and the portions are big. Just don't eat too much, it sits heavy :)

It's great that you can visit for free, and the artworks inside are definitely worth seeing.

In its current state there's not too much worth seeing, but most likely within 5-10 years as excavations increase there'll be a lot more to see.

The place is nice but having to pay for entry is absolutely ridiculous. The staff inside have a total commercial mindset. You won't miss anything if you skip it.

How wonderful that a museum like this exists in our country. Huge thanks to everyone who contributed to its creation. For anyone interested, it's an incredibly detailed museum. There are also exhibits that can capture children's attention. The olive oils are superb. We'd bought a small bottle to try, but I think from now on we'll be getting most of our olive oil from here. It's genuinely excellent :)

This is where we learned windsurfing. Prices are a bit higher compared to other places (like Foca) but the location and surroundings are decent. The instructors are very young but total pros. If you're curious, we definitely recommend taking the lessons. It's a lot of fun.
