Overview
A rather neglected ancient city. Zero commercial infrastructure, no cafe or anything. But the restrooms are clean.
Construction was left unfinished at this ancient site. There's only one security guard working at the entrance. They don't even ask for a museum pass at the gate.
What to See
The location itself is beautiful, nestled among tangerine orchards at the Claros Ancient City grounds.
Some of the sculptures and columns are massive. There are genuinely awe-inspiring sections, but the excavation work is very incomplete. There's much more to be done and a long way to go. A huge area remains unexcavated.
Tips & Advice
In its current state, making a special trip just for this could be a bit disappointing. Best combined with other plans or visited as a quick stop on the way. Since you're already in the area, the nearby Claros Winery is worth a visit too. It's a boutique operation, so making a reservation in advance is a good idea.
