There's a large grass area in front of the municipality building here. They start watering it in the morning and keep going all day. Yet the grass is still dry. And nobody thinks to ask why? Watering grass all day under direct sunlight causes both water waste and the grass to burn, courtesy of a municipal staff that clearly got their positions through connections rather than competence. An Aegean town that can barely be called a town anymore; it's essentially become a city.
Nice shish kebabs, good meat quality, good mezes, prices aren't over the top.
Both the fish and the seafood are great. Our favorite was the sole fish and fried mussels.
Surprisingly clean and pleasant environment. The sea doesn't get very deep and is a bit murky with seaweed and such, but it's a comfortable place to hang out. Just a bit lacking in facilities.
Amazing atmosphere and view, staff are super attentive. For the first time in a long while, we actually had a properly made cocktail in Turkey. They made the Lynchburg with the original recipe and didn't skimp on ingredients. No need to go anywhere else in Kusadasi.
Unfortunately we didn't find what we expected from the restaurant. Prices have skyrocketed, and the food absolutely doesn't justify them. We're used to these prices at chef's restaurants, but naturally we'd also expect quite different plates in return. The sea bass wasn't much different from what you'd get at a regular fish restaurant, just dressed up with tomato sauce. It's maybe 200 grams at most. Charging 3,700 TL for a plate like that is completely absurd. The ambiance is quite nice, but the food fell below our expectations.
Location is great, rooms are quite clean and modern, staff are attentive. But especially at night there's unfortunately way too much noise. There's an insulation problem with adjacent rooms. All the sound comes through. Also the mini-fridges in the rooms are incredibly loud; makes sleeping impossible.
