Overview
Keukenhof is a beautiful place. It's a bit overly touristy, but you can see an incredible variety of tulips and plants. Definitely enjoyable to explore, though the 20-euro entrance fee feels a bit excessive.
The park is large but handles the crowds well. Overall comfort is good, though the lines for ice cream and cafes get unnecessarily long.
Tips & Advice
- Online tickets are cheaper, you can tell because nobody buys from the counter anymore. Parking is included automatically when you add it to your online cart; there's no ticket check at the lot. Entry times are printed on the ticket, but nobody actually checks whether your time slot has arrived; you can just walk in.
- During our late April visit, some tulips had already started being cut. Visiting a bit earlier in the season might be better.
- You can totally bring beer, wine, etc. and just sit and enjoy the scenery at your leisure. There were actually a few groups going full-on picnic mode as if they were at a local park back home. Thankfully nobody tried to fire up a barbecue, or maybe they have in the past.
