Getting There
The Ipsala Border Crossing this year the crossings were truly terrible. You can get through the Turkish side quickly, but on both entry and exit, the Greek side has insane queues. Evening, weekday, nothing makes a difference. I can't even imagine the chaos during weekends and holidays. It honestly makes you not want to cross into Greece at all during summer. Next year we're definitely shifting our travel plans toward spring and autumn.
One observation: between 5 PM and 8 PM, there's only a single person working. This causes an incredible bottleneck. You either need to cross before 5 PM, or wait until very late. Otherwise, a queue that would normally take 30 minutes can suddenly balloon to 3-4 hours.
