Overview
The town center isn't bad, but the road getting there from Ayvalik is an absolute disaster. There used to be some kind of waste disposal facility, but if you filmed the current state of the road and uploaded it to YouTube labeled as Nepal, nobody would question it. Trash everywhere, plastic bags blowing around, piles of construction debris and rubble. I can't remember seeing anywhere this bad in the Aegean region in a long time.
The town center itself has nicely preserved old houses, and the cafes look pleasant. Worth a 1-2 hour stop if you're passing through. The village's old mosque has quite an original character, and the courtyard features a plane tree where you can sit and enjoy the atmosphere.
Would I go back specifically? Debatable. But as a quick 1-2 hour stop while passing through, Kucukkoy is a charming little town. Minus the trash around it.
