Overview
A city that was a tourism disappointment for me. All the historic activity areas were completely dead after 8 PM. It wasn't even bad weather, it was a perfectly nice day. You might say people were just breaking their fast, but we looked around until 9-10 PM and nothing changed. We actually expected the area to be even more lively given Ramadan, so we were quite surprised. It may simply be that Bursa isn't the best city to visit for tourism during Ramadan.
Tips & Advice
Beyond that, the city is quite poor on cleanliness. Traffic is especially terrible, nobody has any respect for anyone else. Yielding to other drivers is simply not a concept here, and to claim your right of way you sometimes need to make dangerously aggressive moves. The city is quite dirty overall. The tourist area is neglected.

This place is the answer to why you should check ratings before eating somewhere. We were hungry on the road so we walked in without looking and the food couldn't have been worse. We ordered hummus and it came sour. When we said there might be a problem and asked them to check, they said it sat out too long in the heat today so it went bad. I've never seen that level of casualness anywhere :) The soup, iskender, etc. had no flavor. The iskender that came as a "1.5 portion" had less than 100 grams of meat. Hair came out of the iskender.
If you want to waste your money and have a miserable experience, I recommend stopping by.

Rooms are quite nice and spacious, service is great. Location is spot on. Staying here might be better than the Hampton; the price difference is small but there seems to be a quality gap. We were happy with everything.
