Singapore to Koh Samui
We used Bangkok Airways for our March 2026 flight from Singapore to Koh Samui.
Bangkok Airways developed and owns Samui Airport through its group, while airport operations are now handled by Bangkok Airport Management Company. That gives the airline a powerful position on the island, although calling its flights a literal complete monopoly would be too strong.
Our aircraft was half empty. Legroom was generous and the flight felt comfortable, although the cabin was old enough that the magazine pocket came off in our hands.
The meal taught us a lesson. During booking we selected a low-fat special meal because we did not know what else to choose, and it was poor. The standard fish and chicken meals came with salad and cake and looked much better. Unless you need a special diet, leaving the meal selection alone may be the best option.
Serving a meal on a one-hour flight deserves credit. It is not Turkish Airlines at its best, but it was more than adequate.
