Overview
Artvin's Borcka Karagol isn't really anything special. If you live in the area, it's fine for a day visit, but if you're touring the Black Sea region, there's no need to make a specific detour here. There are far more distinctive and beautiful lakes to visit both in Turkey and around the world. The road is a bit rough, so in a limited timeframe it's definitely not worth the effort.
If you're going by tour, brace yourself for the maniac minibus drivers. They've apparently memorized the roads to the point where they take the extremely winding and risky stretches way too fast, making dangerous moves that both endanger passengers and exhaust everyone unnecessarily. They drove so badly that we couldn't even appreciate what we were supposed to be seeing.
